This post is an exciting one for my ladies in the Toronto area! There is a new plus size boutique in town that you should know about called PRiMAALA — pronounced (prim-ah-lah)! This beautiful little clothing shop opened its doors a few months ago and offers high-quality, designer plus size fashion.
The concept of PRiMAALA was developed by, Rachel Holt — a fashion design graduate from Ryerson. Through seeing and hearing the difficulties of finding fashionable clothing for plus-sized women, Rachel has opened PRiMAALA to help ease the frustrations of this long time ignored and unsatisfied market.
PRiMAALA’s style is contemporary luxury, fashion forward European imports with premium denim and Canadian made jewelry lines. Featured lines are Carmakoma, currently only available at PRiMAALA North America wide, celebrity loved, James Jeans,Toronto based lines: Lundstrom, Opelle Handbags, and Lovefresh luxury bodycare. With more highlights including Lisa Todd, contemporary line Mynt 1792, Comfy USA, and Eileen Fisher
With a firm belief in the concept of ALL women being creatures of magnificence, merely walking into the door of PRiMAALA you see that beauty is limitless.
I had the chance to visit PRiMAALA this past weekend and it is an adorable shop filled with beautiful, fashionable and luxurious plus size pieces!
Fun Fact: The name PRiMAALA is a combination of phonetics, with p-r-i-m, coming from the word prime and m-a-a-l-a from the translation of the Hebrew word ‘to rise up’. The idea behind rising up was one that struck a chord with Rachel, as a great deal of the impact that she hopes PRiMAALA will have, is to encourage everyone who walks through the door to recognize the beauty within themselves, and to rise up in their sense of self and self-esteem.
