Last week I came across an illustration by Brazilian designer Carol Rossetti that I absolutely fell in love with — it features a girl named Marina who loved her striped dress even though the fashion magazines told her it wouldn’t suit her body type! I immediately shared the illustration on my Killer Kurves Facebook Page and it received a ton of love and comments. Since then, I have seen a bunch of other illustrations popping up on the internet by Carol Rossetti and I have loved ever single one!

These illustrations aim to call out the oppression of women and their bodies that is so ingrained in society that most wouldn’t even notice the problem exists.

“It has always bothered me, the world’s attempts to control women’s bodies, behavior and identities. It’s a kind of oppression so deeply entangled in our culture that most people don’t even see it’s there, and how cruel it can be.” Rossetti told online news site Mic in a recent interview.

These works of art by Carol Rossetti  are so wonderful that I had to compile them here to inspire you all. I think all of us can relate to at least one of them.

Enjoy!
