Today’s modern ballerina look is certainly one for the more playful at heart! Tutu’s seem to be popping up all over the place lately and working their way in to everyday fashion.
I have created this look with a beautiful blush tutu from a hip new online plus size retailer called Cool Gal Blue – which is the brainchild of famed plus size blogger and creator of Skorch Magazine, Jessica Kane, and plus size fashion entrepreneur Michelle Crawford, who both wanted to create an online shopping experience where women are entitled to feel beautiful and stylish no matter what!
YOUNG + MIDDLE-AGED + WORKING MOM + SAHM + STUDENT + SINGLE + MARRIED + WHITE + BLACK + HISPANIC + LIBERAL + CONSERVATIVE + CURVY + SKINNY + FAT…. With every step we take, and in every direction we look, we are being labeled. Put into tidy little boxes, to be targeted, marketed and sold to. At Cool Gal we refuse and refute labels. Instead we embrace unity, diversity and respect. We aim to uplift all women in all aspects of their life. We welcome designers who know that women of all sizes enhance their brand. We spotlight and encourage women who refuse to be put in a box. Who choose sass and smarts, over logos and dress size. We promote positivity and the good in ourselves and others. We are certain of the truth that ALL women are worthy of respect. Everyone is entitled to feel beautiful and stylish. Any crazy mix of styles can be fashionable, no matter your beautiful body type, as long as it represents YOU! That’s us. That’s Cool Gal!
Since the tutu is the show stopper of this look I wanted to keep the top simple so I paired up with a premium white tank top from Gussied Up+.
Also featured in this post is my beloved Ted Baker Bowicon Bag and a beautiful Cream Filigree Disc Bib Necklace from New Look both in which I picked up on my recent trip to London – and both just happened to match this outfit perfectly! My shoes are just a classic pair of white peep-toe pumps that I purchased awhile ago from BCGB but I am sure you can find a similar pair at Nordstrom or Macy’s.
I am not 100% sure where I am going to wear my new tutu yet – maybe to a tea party or it would be an adorable choice for a guest of honour at a bridal shower! But I am sure of one thing, that there is nothing better than putting on a tutu and twirling around just for the heck of it! I felt like a girly-girl fairy princess in this outfit and am absolutely in love with it.
Hope you enjoyed todays look!
